At Atlanta Sport Flight, you've found an affordable place to rent a new aircraft with modern instruments and professional-quality training materials. The next step is to find a flight instructor; someone to be your guide and mentor on the path to earning your pilot certificate. We'll help you take that next step.
INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS
ALL flight instructors are tested and certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to meet high standards of knowledge and experience. There are two basic levels of instructor: the Sport Pilot Instructor and the Certified Flight Instructor. Sport Pilot Instructors must have at least 150 flight hours and may only teach candidates for the Sport Pilot Certificate. The Certified Flight Instructor, or "CFI", is required to have 250 hours and may teach candidates for the Sport Pilot, Recreational Pilot, Private Pilot, or Commercial Pilot certificates. Earning either instructor certificate requires that a pilot pass two written exams, an oral exam, and a flight exam; all given by the FAA. But before an instructor teaches in Atlanta Sport Flight aircraft, he or she must still complete a comprehensive ground and flight training syllabus to become proficient teaching in our particular aircraft.
IT'S YOUR CHOICE
At Atlanta Sport Flight, you are free to work with the flight instructor of your choice and your flight instructor works directly for you. You and your instructor will decide together when you will fly and how often and you will train at your own pace. Instructors at Atlanta Sport Flight use a standard syllabus so that you can see what you've accomplished and have a clearly defined path to reach your goal. Since your training will be standardized and well documented, you can easily move between instructors or continue your instruction elsewhere; it's your choice.
